Latoprost Eye Drops 2.5 ml contains an ophthalmic medication; Latanoprost is used to lower increased eye pressure (ocular hypertension) and treat glaucoma. It is used alone or in combination with other drugs used to lower eye pressure. Increased eye pressure may lead to an illness called glaucoma; if not treated, it can lead to permanent vision loss (optic nerve damage). Glaucoma is an eye disease in which the optic nerve is damaged. This damage is mostly due to an abnormally increase in eye pressure. Latoprost Eye Drops 2.5 ml contains Latanoprost, belongs to a class of medications known as prostaglandin inhibitors. It is primarily used in treating high pressure of the eye. It works by increasing the natural flow from inside the eye into the bloodstream. As a result, the pressure of the eye is decreased. Also, if the pressure is too high and is not treated, it can lead to loss of sight. Latoprost Eye Drops 2.5 ml should be put only in the infected eye, and contact with the normal eye should be avoided. Do not use Latoprost Eye Drops 2.5 ml with other prostaglandin inhibitors as they are known to contra-indicate.
